    Goals of program

    Why teach children, teens and young adults etiquette?

  • To prepare them to be comfortable in any situation in the real world;
  • To develop lifetime and leadership skills;
  • To increase self-esteem, confidence and sense of purpose in them;
  • To contribute to society in a positive and effective manner
  • To fill a void in society and help set an etiquette standard in the community;
  • To return to traditional values - value-awareness
  • To instill a philosophy of treating others with respect and common courtesy
  • Helps to balance negative peer pressure

    1. For Ages 8 - 12:

    a. Starting early establishes good habits and a strong foundation while shaping self-perspective.
    b. This age group is impressionable and more accepting of guidance.
    c. Willingness to learn.

    2. For Ages 13-17:

    a. This age group is more self-conscious and looking for positive direction.
    b. They spend more time with peers and less time with parents.
    c. They need rules to know what is expected.

    3. For Ages 18 - 22:

    a. This group is eager to develop marketable skills and earning power.
    b. Developing transition skills.
    c. Flexible

    The Etiquette Program

    Building self-confidence and self-esteem

    The return to traditional values has brought about an increased appreciation of civility. A foundation of good manners and leadership skills give young people of all ages an opportunity to learn and practice - now and for the rest of their lives. These fun and informative programs include role playing exercises and a workbook for each student to keep as a reference guide.

    The programs include:

  • Self-esteem and confidence building
  • Meetings and introductions
  • Developing confidence in meeting new acquaintances
  • Handshaking with all ages
  • Conversation and listening skills
  • Telephone etiquette
  • The etiquette of public places
  • Employment and you (Teens and young adults)

    The Dining Program

    Confidence in party and dining situations frees one from worrying about making mistakes. Everyone has experienced awkward moments - dropping a fork on the floor and wondering whether to pick it up or leave it there, or showing up at a party all dressed up while everyone else is wearing jeans.

    Students learn to feel comfortable and self-assured in social situations. These fun and informative programs include role playing exercises and a workbook for each student to keep as a reference guide. An on-site tutorial luncheon or dinner will be served.

    The programs include:

  • Extending and receiving invitations
  • Host/Hostess and guest duties
  • The ABCs of table manners
  • Napkins
  • Silverware, China and Crystal
  • Being served and serving yourself
  • Difficult to eat foods
  • Dos and don'ts of dining
  • Tipping
  • Thank-you notes

    Children's Birthday Tea Parties - 3 hours

    Includes:

  • Decorated cake
  • Tea sandwiches
  • Chicken Croquets
  • Beverages (hot and iced teas, sodas)
  • Invitations
  • Gloves and trimming

    Activity: Decorating of hats
    Or: Dress up and fashion show with photo session

    An etiquette class will be conducted and will last for about 45 minutes, highlighting social correspondence, host/hostess and guest duties, the ABCs of dining and social & communication skills.
